I love this linkup.  It's probably my favorite (sorry other linkups).  So here are the sentences I'm finishing today, and linking up with Jake & Holly. 

1. I always pick… being lazy over ... well, doing anything else.

3. I recently learned... that it is absolutely imperative to turn off the water before attempting to clean the screen on the back of your washer.

5. I lost my... high school class ring.  While I was still in high school.

Five things that are awesome...

-ONE-

Last night I got to eat Pop Tarts and salt & vinegar chips for dinner.  I say "got to" because I wouldn't have been able to eat that crap if Jerry and Emily weren't downstairs playing.  I went to the grocery store after work, Jerry picked up the girls and by the time I got home he had Caroline fed and Emily watching Jake & the Neverland Pirates.  Rounded out my mom fail evening with a Lunchables dinner for Emily and having to walk out of the bathroom and make Jerry finish Emily's bath because she was being a complete shit.  I forget where I was going with this...

Jerry's cousin, Emily Lupita.   She is awesome.  And very talented.  She designs jewelry and greeting cards, does watercolor painting, and creates all sorts of amazing things...like this book:

Tonight we are going to see our niece in her church Christmas play.  It's called something like "A Charlie Brown Christmas with a Twist".  

She's playing Sally Brown, who I totally had to Google (I never watched much CB as a kid.. all I know is Snoopy laid ontop of his doghouse, Woodstock is some kind of bird, and Linus carried around a blanket and maybe there was a piano?).  In any case, it's going to be awesome.   I just hope Emily and Caroline behave. I can kinda see Emily wanting to go up on stage with "her Lana"...

There are 12 days until Christmas!  I'm really excited this year and I'm not sure why.  I think it must be that Emily is getting to be a really fun age for Christmas festivities.  And I just decided that we're skipping the homemade gingerbread house and trying this awesomeness:

Not sure why, but last year I insisted we use my mom's old Pampered Chef gingerbread house baking molds; I made the gingerbread dough and icing from scratch and it literally fell apart the second after I took a picture of it.

AHH she's so little! (and also apparently playing the thumb drinking game)

AND I just realized that there are two pictures of Emily in this post and none of Caroline.  I have a newfound appreciation for my mom and how hard she had (and still has) to work to keep everything equal and fair for both of us.  I can just hear Caroline in 10 years looking at his blog post (because that's going to happen) and going "MOOOMMM! How come Emily has two pictures on here and I don't have any?!"  I'm the younger daughter and I've given my mom a hard time once or twice (!) about Sara having two photo albums dedicated to her and poor Amanda having 0.  But I take it all back.  Sorry Mom.  And here you go, Caroline:

Finish the Sentence - Christmas Edition

Today I'm also linking up with Jake & Holly for their Finish the Sentence link party.  Here we go!

1. My favorite Christmas was.../is going to be this one.  It's Caroline's first Christmas, and Emily's first where she really knows what's going on and is really getting into it.  

2. The worst Christmas I had... was the one right after Jerry and I broke up when I was 17.  I thought my life was over -- I was really pouty and dramatic.  I was the only reason I didn't have a good time that year.  It was really stupid.

3. That one gift that made me scratch my head and say, "Hmmmm" was... let's just say it was something that "accidentally" broke all on its own soon after Christmas.

4. One year I.... had a really bad nosebleed and my mom and I spent the entire Christmas Eve party in my aunt's bathroom trying to get it to clot.  I wasn't even wearing a red shirt...

5. I think the worst gift to give is.... the only thing I can think of is fruitcake.  Any gift that someone has put thought into and is really excited to give someone else is a great gift, regardless of whether the recipient actually needs or wants it.  But fruitcake... nobody likes that crap.  Nobody wants it.  Why do they still make it??

7. Typically, family Christmas.... was spent in my hometown.  But this year we're staying home and having family to come to us (thank you family in advance for making the trip -- you are awesome!!)

8. If I could change one thing about the Holiday season.... I would make it stop sneaking up on me so fast every year.

9. It is so hard to buy for.... 10 year old boys.  Sorry nephew Jake, you're getting an iTunes card & some candy.  I have no idea.

10. My favorite Christmas tradition is... this year we're going to start the "Christmas Eve Box" tradition with our girls.  Caroline won't know what's going on, but Emily will be really excited, I think.  We are going to wrap up some new PJs, a new Christmas DVD (Arthur Christmas this year), some hot chocolate & popcorn and let her stay up a little late to watch the movie all snuggled under a blanket on the couch.

11. Santa, baby, bring me a .... Honda Odyssey, or a new washer & dryer, really either would fine.  Mmk, thanks.

Today I thought I'd do something I've never done before. I'm going to try my hand at linking up with another blog. I've been reading blogs for about a year now and I always see these "link parties" and think they look like fun but I've never actually done one. Today I'm linking up with Holly at Where We Can Live Like Jack & Sally for her monthly Finish the Sentence with Jake link party. So here goes!

My happy place... is my car after I've dropped the kids off at daycare.

Whatever happened to... Dunkaroos? Seriously. Apparently you can buy them on eBay - but somehow that doesn't seem like a great idea to me.

So what if I... dip my carrots in peanut butter. At least I'm choking down carrots.

E! needs a reality show about... the Amish Mafia.  What's that you say? There already is one? WOW.

My go-to fast food meal is... Chick Fil A Char-grilled Club. Unless, of course, it's Sunday. Then probably Taco Bell chicken quesdadilla.

You might not know that I... have a blog. I'm new and don't really know what I'm doing!

The hottest quarterback in the NFL is... Aaron Rodgers. Totally agree with Holly - love me some scruff! We are proud Packers fans & owners!

If I could... potty train my three-year-old, life would be fantastic.

My personality is awesome because... I'm hilarious, awesome, sarcastic, and really really modest.

Twerking is... something I had to Google last week. I would probably hurt myself if I did it.

I think it's super gross when... guys have long fingernails.

Someone needs to tell Miley Cyrus... that it's OK to wear clothes and keep your tongue in your mouth.  Really, it's OK.
