The Thankful Project - Day 13

Today I'm linking up with Kenzie from Chasing Happy for Day 13 of the Thankful Project.
Today's prompt is: an ability.

I'm thankful for the ability to make people laugh.  I can be a very serious person.  Sometimes I take myself too seriously and stress out over the smallest things.  But other times, I can see the humor in things and laugh at myself, and allow others to laugh at me as well.  I'm thankful for that.

When I was a kid I liked to say funny things to make my parents laugh.  I like to use my story telling skills (most of the time written stories -- if you ask my husband, I'm a horrible story teller because I lose my train of thought too easily, and... squirrel!) to amuse people.

My husband and I like to people watch and do impressions.  Not to be mean, but just because some people are more interesting than others and fun to (kindly) make fun of.  One of the first things that drew me to Jerry was his sense of humor.  Some people don't get it -- they think he's being mean or weird.

He makes me giggle and, very often, laugh until I cry.  When he laughs hard, he coughs.  I'm always aiming for that cough.  Like if I can make him choke and stop breathing, I know I'm hilarious.

So, like, if we see some db in a TAPOUT shirt (sorry I'm not sorry TAPOUT shirt-wearing guys), and we chuckle at it, I'll send him this meme the next day and hopefully he'll LOL.

And I'm so thankful that I can show my kids the value of humor.  Emily already makes me laugh daily.  I hope they will both grow up to be just as sarcastic and snarky as I am (and also as modest).

  1. hahaha SQUIRREL!
I like that ability. It's awesome when you know how to make people laugh. You could be having a bad day, but you can still see the funny side of things, and that makes a huge difference.

  2. When I met Bradley he would sport RVCA and Hurley shirts like a douche lord. I threatened to throw them away unless he stopped. Thankfully he's gotten a little *ahem* bigger and they don't fit him anyway. I always judge guys with Tapout shirts on too. Thank you for speaking my language.
